The electronic AllergyCard – and application for smartphones
With the new electronic AllergyCard, sufferers have all the information they need about their allergies and intolerances available in digital form on their smartphones: they can create a personal profile, record their data and enter what allergies and intolerances they have, what their symptoms are, what medications they have to take (including in emergencies), who to contact and where their emergency medication is stored. This information can be updated and added to at any time.
As well as patient data, the electronic AllergyCard provides key facts and specialist information about allergies and intolerance. Pollen reports, pollen and weather forecasts can also be accessed as well as current air quality and pollution levels. An emergency plan in the event of anaphylaxis, allergic shock which can be life-threatening, can also be incorporated. aha! Swiss Allergy Centre regularly amends and updates this information.
The "AllergyCard" application is published by aha! Swiss Allergy Centre and the Swiss Society for Allergology and Immunology (SSAI) and was developed in collaboration with Swiss Post’s eHealth platform vivates.
aha! Swiss Allergy Centre is dedicated to the needs and interests of over three million people with allergies, asthma, neurodermatitis and intolerances. The independent aha! Foundation supports sufferers, caregivers and interested persons with comprehensive information, advice and training. It is committed to raising public awareness about allergies and intolerances.
The Swiss Society for Allergology and Immunology (SSAI) brings together fundamental researchers, laboratory specialists and medical practitioners from hospital and office practice to form a joint organisation, www.ssai-sgai.ch.
Swiss Post, with its core area of expertise in the secure and reliable conveyance of sensitive information, has been active in the field of eHealth since the early days. Its eHealth platform vivates designs the processes between doctors, hospitals, pharmacies or laboratories more efficiently, more reliably and more cost-effectively and so improves healthcare provision indirectly, www.post.ch/vivates.
